Mike Van Bremen notched up another impressive win this week to add to the list of his best season yet.
'The Flying Dutchman' won the 30 lap final of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series at Ballarats Redline Speedway on the weekend, to place him second overall in the tough domestic Victorian series.
The night started out well for Van Bremen, in his Maxwill Racing Engines, Action Alliance Car, with a heat win straight up, then a 5th from an eight start. Another excellent performer in the heat races was South Australian Daniel pestka, driving his Pestka Bakery, Maxwill Racing Engines, J&J, moving through the field to score a 2nd and 3rd in both his heats.
Both Van Bremen and Pestka moved forward in the dash from back row starts, finishing Second and Third consecutively.
Van Bremen won the start of the 30 lap feature from pole sitter Jamie Veal. From there Van Bremen was not challenged and settled into a steady pace to lead the race. As the race unfolded Pestka moved into second position finding himself in an impressive podium position. With Van Bremen going on to win the race, it wasnt quite enough to climb to the points table but finished an impressive 2nd in the series.
Mike said "I honestly believe itis the best season I've had, winning A-Main races and being very consistant with podium results. It just shows how tough it is to win a series. I walk away knowing we gave it our best shot and had fun doing it".
This season included Van Bremens maiden feature win at Avalon Raceway in 15 years.
