In what was said to be some of the best racing this season at Bunbury Speedway, Jamie Maiolo driving his LJM Produce, Maxwill Racing Engines, J&J sealed the Hydralink Southern Thunder Sprintcar Series for the second consecutive season.

Time Trials saw some of the fastest laps around the venue, with 5 Maxwill Racing Engines featuring in the top 10, with Ben Ellement heading young gun Kris Coyle, Jamie Maiolo, Shaun Bradford and rookie Brad Maiolo.

The heat races were well fought with David Ellement showing he is a contender with a tough heat win. Shaun Bradford in his Carahaul, Maxwill Racing Engines, Cool got unlucky in his heat race, turning it over and sustaining too much damage to take the start of the feature.

Jamie Maiolo came through with a win in the Dash to earn himself a pole position start for the 30 lap series decider. With series leaded Ken Sartori breaking a drive line before the green flag was a big blow for the new Philmac, Cowara Contracting team. In just their first season together the team has progressed a long way, and are now looking ahead to winning another round of the AHG  series.

Kris Coyle was a big mover in the final, wheeling his Remote Areas Concrete, Maxwill Racing Engines, Murphy from 10th place to finish in fourth for the night. Ben Ellement in his Ellement Produce, Maxwill Racing Engines sprintcar had a great run wheeling his car to a 3rd place finish. Jamie Maiolo lead the feature and was never seriously challenged for the lead the entire duration, to not only take the feature win, but also seal the 4 round series victory back to back.
