Murcott and Downing Bros. Victorious

Saturday night saw round 9 of the Speedway City track championship being run and won by David Murcott, wheeling the Downing Brothers, Maxwill Racing Engines, Cool.

With Murcott out of the Championship chase, due to the team only running a handful of shows this season, it was evident they were only there for the win. 

The night started off well for the Downing Brothers team, storming to a first heat win, followed by a third in their second heat from a back row start.

Jamie Cobby, aboard the Peter Page Holden, Maxwill Racing Engines, Eagle put in a great drive for a heat win after rolling his car in the first heat when coming in contact with a spinning car.

The feature, run over 25 laps, was all Murcotts, taking the lead form his first place starting position and never being headed for the lead. He worked his was through lapped traffic well to take the victory.

Jamie Cobby still leads the track championship, with a commanding 36 point lead with 2 rounds remaining.
