Saturday night saw the 28th running of the Nanovich Sprintcar King of Wings at the Perth Motorplex, with eventual winner Brooke Tatnell taking the Crown, leading the feature from start to finish.

Tatnell, aboard his Toyota Genuine Parts, Maxwill Racing Engines, Cool, took the 30 lap feature in excellent fashion, staying out of trouble in the busy lapped traffic.

The weekend started of well for the Maxwill Racing Engines in the field, with Steven Lines, driving the Camden Neon, J&J setting quick time around the venue, with a 14.626, as well as Shaun Bradford in the Carahaul, Cool timing in second quick. The next three spots were also filled with Maxwill Racing Engines, Jamie Maiolo in his LJM Produce, J&J, fourth was local young gun Kris Coyle, in his Remote Areas Concrete, Murphy and fifth was Max Dumesny in his Valvoline, Maxim.

Throughout the first night both Dashes were won by Max Dumesny and Brooke Tatnell, with both of them finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively in the preliminary A Main.

Night two saw both Tatnell and Dumesny win their respective dashes one again, to start the feature from the front row. From the outset Brooke took a comanding lead but was brought back after a spin back in the field brought on a yellow. On the restart Brooke achieved the same result and moved to a commanding lead. From there he was never headed and moved through lapped traffic well, utilising the various lines of the race track. The big mover in the field was the Camden Neon, Maxwill Racing Engines pilot of Steven Lines, starting the A Main from 8th position, racing to a very respectable 4th place finish.
