Mike Van Bremen fought hard at the latest round of the SRA Series to take a thrilling victory at Avalon, the second of the season at the venue.
The Boxing Day Clash, being the fifth round of the Victorian based Sprintcar domestic series, ran a splendid 30 lap feature, with Van Bremen starting out of 2, next to pole sitter Matt Reed, making it a Maxwill Racing Engines front row. Van Bremen sped away to lead the field into lapped traffic, where Reed mounted an exciting challenge.
Matt Reed took control of the feature for a period, until the 'Flyin Dutchman' fought back to regain the lead, still being challenged by Reed until Reed stopped in turn 2 with three laps to go, due to lapped traffic.
From here Mike Van Bremen, driving his Maxwill Racing Engines powered Action Alliance Sprintcar, did nothing wrong and took the car to victory.
This leaves Mike Van Bremen just 14 points behind the lead in the Eureka Garages SRA series ahead of round 6 at Horshams Blue Ribbon Raceway on January 9.
