Cobby wins season opener

South Australian Jamie 'Jim Bob' Cobby captured the opening round of the 2009 - 2010 season at Truckworks Speedway City in impressive style. Taking the win ahead of fellow Maxwill Race Engines pilot Steve Lines, the finishing positions of this close fought battle were never secure until the final corner.
The racing was very intense, with Steve Lines coming from his starting position of 9th, taking full advantage of the multi lane racetrack, passing the race leader with excellent speed after a restart.

It was only with 3 laps to go that Cobby found the bottom groove and capitalised on his speed, with great driving through lapped traffic, taking the race lead from his 5th starting position.
Also a stand out on the night, was second genration rookie, Nick Lacey. Finishing off the feature race in a very impressive 4th position, after running as high as 2nd during the race.
Phil March and Mark Reuter came home in 5th and 6th respectively to make it 5 out of the top 6 being Maxwill Racing Engines.
