Max Dumesny kicked the 2009-2010 season off in great fashion, bagging the $10,000 cheque at the Avalon Jackpot Invitational.
With the unique format of the meeting, being fast from the outset was necesary, and Max had what it took. Moving forward in his first heat to earn needed points, Dumesny, driving the Valvoline, Maxwill Racing Engines, Maxim, then time trialed fastest from the top 10, earning Pole Position for the A Main. David Murcott, aboard the Downing Brothers, Maxwill Racing Engines, Cool, eared his spot in the feature by moving forward to 2nd from his starting position of 8th in the Semi Final. The feature saw Max Dumesny taking the win with his Maxwill Racing Engine never missing a beat. Finishing in a very strong second, David Murcott chalked up another impressive result for the Downing Brothers, whilst second generation young gun Nick Lacey was impressive, piloting his Maxwill Powered machine to 7th position at the start of his second season.
